Bender Library's Digital Research & Inquiry Lab
Project Management

Once I began at American University, I was placed in charge of a development plan for the creation and launch of a digital research lab. This laboratory will provide digital resources to students and faculty who are interested in further developing their research and creating visual components for it. During this process, I created multiple logos, an official brand kit, and stylized font, and moved forward into creating a launch timeline that covers all promotional and outreach methods.
Bimonthly Internal Newsletter
Internal Communications
One of my responsibilities as Communications Coordinator was to relaunch the bimonthly internal newsletter for staff and faculty at the University Library. This process consisted of collecting updates from multiple departments and then rewriting and designing the newsletter to be distributed through email.

Advancement Initiatives & Donor Relations
Advancement
An integral part of my position at the Library is managing and improving our donor communication efforts. In collaboration with the Office of Advancement for the university, I have expanded upon and created strategies for enhancing personalized communication with donors and donor/alumni recognition through event programming and media placement throughout the university. The poster to the right is a graphic from a panel discussion event that was held at American University and featured a number of alumni and even a few donors as panelists.

Teal Nation Communications
Design & Development
Teal Nation Communications is a student-run Public Relations firm which does real work for real clients. The website for this firm was slightly outdated, so I chose to start from scratch and create a well-developed, personalized website that displayed the firm's portfolio and staff to prospective and current clients. Media List
Research & Compiling
This is a sample of a media list that I created for Lutheran Social Services in Washington, D.C. I sorted the list by journalists' beats and then further by location and outlet size. This list was then used to create media groups that would be contacted with specific stories or pitches based on their interest.

While acting as Vice President for Coastal's student-run PR firm, I presented this platform to the team, and we opted to use it as a tracking source for account management. I maintained all input and shared status updates with the team routinely based on the project information in Monday.com.

This pitch desk was presented to a Library department to introduce their new marketing plan that I led the development of. The goal was to increase student interaction of the department and their services. This plan was pitched to the department and approved, and then continued to be built upon as we began the first phase of the marketing plan. Click to the right to view the full plan.
Award Announcement Article

I co-wrote this article with my supervisor to announce that our organization had won an award for our diversity and accessibility initiatives. The article was shared with the university-wide marketing and communications team and distributed to local news outlets. The full article can be accessed by clicking the image to the right.

This was a sample press release I created for a Media Relations class. The release was created with the intent of announcing a hypothetical partnership between two different pre-existing companies and sharing it with the media to garner attention and interest and eventually media releases to advertise the partnership.
